White House Ornament by MP Artist

Yes, Denise Wynia-Wedel (Denise and James own Cobblestone Galleries here in the Park) was honored to be chosen to create an ornament for the White House Christmas tree. We are proud to know her and are not surprised knowing her amazing talent. Her ornament was a portrait of Will Rogers.

Wynia-Wedel had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for a holiday artists reception, during which the first lady announced the Christmas theme of A Red, White and Blue Christmas and congratulated the artists.

“It was such a great honor to be selected to paint a White House ornament. The invitation to the White House and the opportunity to attend the reception is a once-in-a-lifetime event,” Wynia-Wedel said. “Then, to top that, my ornament was placed on the tree in a prominent location, where it can be seen from the entrance of the room. Wow!”
