Fun, Grub, Sun and Rock n' Roll

Just a short mention of the goings on Saturday. If there was ever a perfect day in the Park it was yesterday. With temperature in the high 70's, little or no wind and thankfully medium pollen there wasn't much stopping people from coming out and enjoying themselves.

Marauders greeted the Jaguar Club with their usual zaniness, holding hostages, gunfights, humor and a dose of Odus singing the Possum song. The Jaguar club went on to eat at the Plantation, visit the Winery and stop by the Tavern among other things. Some of the members had cabins and rooms reserved in advance some others tried to find a place to stay after they found out MP is such a cool place. We got to chat with them for awhile, definitely a fun loving group.

After the shoot we galloped back to the house to feed the dogs and change clothes for the Crawfish Boil at the Park Tavern. You can't beat a cold brew, great grub and listening the music of our life, songs from Jimi Hendrix, Tracy Chapman or Seven Mary Three Zestfully sang by Tracy Austin and played by the rocking musicians from SPELL. And just as the music wound down at the Tavern the rocking started up at the Winery. No rest for the cheery!

I say if you can't have fun in the Park where can you have fun!

Key to the CIty

from Muriel Fahrion
The Park is jumpin’. It is a buzz with activity spurred on by the reopening of the Old Plantation, adding another eatery to town’s offering. Frankly we appreciate our visitors. We love it when they remark on the Park’s beauty, the spirit of fun, or on it’s inhabitant’s friendliness. And of course if they want to stay in our unique lodging, frequent our shops, the restaurants, or stop for a drink and entertainment at the Tavern, the winery and AP’s we say the more the merrier. The problem arises when the Town’s guests forget that the Park is the permanent home and weekend home of 400 or so folks. So we ask collectively that if you visit please don’t litter and remind your friends and family to dispose of their trash in the receptacles. And that everyone pay heed to driving slowly and carefully. Tourists on foot who are often struck by the natural beauty and quaintness of the historic structures have been known to wander into the road without really looking, not to mention tourists on two or four wheels who have known to stop dead in their tire tracks and stare at their surroundings. (Remember pulling over works if a bit lost). And you never know when the Medicine Park Marauders might pop into the street for a shootout. So here’s the key to the city. Enjoy your stay.
